Get healthy and stay healthy.  Start today.

This app is the perfect tool for anyone on a Low GI Diet, a low Carb diet, diabetics or just anyone concerned about their health.

Carbohydrates release glucose into the bloodstream as they break down.  Some carbohydrates break down faster than others.  The Glycemic Index (or GI) is a measure of how fast different foods break down with 100 representing glucose itself.

Low GI Foods (GI of 55 or less) release glucose slowly and are considered more healthy.  In this app they are identified by a green box around their glycemic index value.

Medium GI Foods (GI between 56 and 69) release glucose more rapidly and are not as healthy as Low GI Foods.  In this app they are identified by a yellow box around their Glycemic Index value.

High GI Foods (GI over 70) release glucose the fastest and are the least healthy foods.  In this app they are identified by a red box around their Glycemic Index value.

You can search a list of over 2,000 foods using multiple and/or partial word searches.  Simply press the search box and enter your search via the keypad.  You can also scroll through the items.  Then click on the row of your choice and the full text of the food will appear followed by it's Glycemic Index value.
